Photo Background
Simple backdrop effect for portraits or anything.
- Foreground color: 215 182 122
- Background color: 135 85 15
- Filter > Render > Clouds
- Create a big circular selection (best to go off the sides of the picture)
- For high res images feather 170px and low res images feather 50px.
- Adjustments > Levels - lighten the middle wil the middle slider
- Inverse selection
- Adjustments > Levels - darken with the left slider (shadow slider)
- Filter > Brush Strokes > Spatter - 12 7
- Filter > Artistic > Paint Daubs - low low simple
- Filter > Brush Strokes > Angle Strokes - 50 15 3
- Repeat step 11
- Edit > Fade - ~50%
- Add photo and select the people
- Adjustment Layer - Photo Filter
- change the color to a darker than midtone color in the background
- bring up the density and “Ok”
- Since it’s a layer mask you can paint back some of the white (for example in the eyes)
