Dust n’ Scratches
Have a photo with some dust or maybe some scratches? Want to get rid of them? Here are two solutions, depending on the image one maybe faster or produce a better quality image. Take some time to expirement to find what works best in different situations.
- Take a snapshot in the ‘History’ pallet. (the camera icon)
- Dust n’ Scratches Filter (an alternative would be to use the Gaussian Blur Filter)
- Take another snapshot
- Decided if you want to “Paint Away Dust and Scratches” or “Paint Back Detail”
- Paint Away Dust and Scratches
- Click the art history check box of the first snapshot (Before the filter).
- Art History Brush with the blending mode set on:
- ‘lighten’ for dark spots
- ‘darken’ for light spots
- Paint away the scratches and dust.
- Paint Back Detail
- The image at this point may be satisfactory to your needs.
- Click the art history check box of the second snapshot (After the filter).
- Art History Brush with the blending mode set on:
- ‘lighten’ for light spots
- ‘darken’ for dark spots
- Paint back some of the lost detail.
